Peachtree Baseball 2010 Registration January 26 and 28
Do you attend (or are eligible to attend) Meriwether Lewis, Murray, Brownsville, Crozet Elem, Henley, Nelson County Elementry & Middle School, Red Hill Elementary or any school that feeds into Western Albemarle school district, then Peachtree Baseball is for you!
Registration will be held Tuesday, January 26 and Thursday, January 28, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Old Trail Community Building.
Peachtree baseball offers competitive, well organized divisions for girls and boys 4-15 years of age. If you will be league age 4-15 by April 30, 2010, and live within the district, then come by to sign up to play baseball in your community.
Cost will be $65.00 due at the time of registration. Please bring birth certificate when registering.
You may obtain a registration form at WWW.PEACHTREEBASEBALL.COM. If you print a registration form off the website, please make 3 copies, fill out all 3 and bring to registration.

Virginia Master Naturalist Info Sessions Jan. 5 and 19
The Rivanna Chapter of Virginia Master Naturalists will host free informational sessions on basic training as a master naturalist Tuesday, Jan. 5 and Jan. 19, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Education Center at the Ivy Creek Natural Area. The next training session will be held Tuesday evenings and some Saturdays from February 16 through May 25 at the Ivy Creek Natural Area. Virginia Master Naturalists make up a statewide corps of volunteers dedicated to the beneficial management of the our natural resources and natural areas. The Rivanna Chapter was established in June 2006 to serve the Central Piedmont of Virginia.
Waynesboro YMCA Raffle to Raise Funds for National Swim Meet
The Waynesboro YMCA swim team is holding a raffle to help get them to the Y-National swim meet, to be held in Fort Lauderdale this April. For a $10 ticket you can win a two-night stay at Wintergreen. The package includes four tickets for golfing, skiing, or tubing and a two-night stay the date of your choice (excluding holidays). Proceeds benefit the Waynesboro YMCA’s National swim team. Lang Gibson For the Love of Greenwood Book-signing and Lecture Jan. 17
As part of its 150th celebration Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Greenwood will be holding a special event on Sunday, January 17, 2010 at 4 pm. Langhorne Gibson, Jr. will discuss his book For the Love of Greenwood which combines historical research with how he remembers Greenwood as a young person, sharing with his readers his memories of some of the wonderful people who were part of his life.
