Remember the glass slipper, the fairy godmother, Prince Charming, and the evil stepsisters? Come and relive the timeless enchantment of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s romantic musical Cinderella on Friday, April 24th, and Saturday, April 25th at 7:30 p.m. in the Western Albemarle High School auditorium at 5941 Rockfish Gap Turnpike in Crozet.  Tickets are $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for students.

The Western Albemarle High School Theater Company’s production of this magical fairy tale is directed by Kimberly Eavenson and stars Ali Stoner as Cinderella, Joe Quesenberry as Prince Charming, and Caroline Barnes as the Stepmother. Kenley Hoover, Kim Schatz, Leah Quesenberry, Rachel Marshall, and Maggie Sams round out the cast, with additional support by heralds, coachmen, a chef, and a chorus.

This lesser know Rodgers & Hammerstein musical was originally presented on television in 1957 with Julie Andrews in the starring role. It has been frequently adapted for both film and stage, including a 1997 production starring Brandy as Cinderella and Whitney Houston as her fairy godmother. The romance and magic are brought to life with memorable songs, including “In My Own Little Corner,” “The Stepsisters’ Lament,” “Ten Minutes Ago I Saw You,” and “Do I Love You Because You’re Beautiful.”

Come out and enjoy the fun and enchantment suitable for your whole family!
