Perriello, Mallek Lay Ceremonial Bricks at Meadows
Fifth District Congressman Tom Perriello handed a cinder block, one of dozen with the initials of a funding agency stenciled on them, to Brad Chewning of Chewning masonry of Orange, at the groundbreaking ceremony for 38 new apartments at The Meadows Oct. 5. The Meadows, which dates to 1979, provides housing for low and extremely low income elderly persons. The project is the work of the Piedmont Housing Alliance and Jordan Development Company. Perriello called it “a model to be replicated elsewhere.”
Ann Mallek lifted the block representing Albemarle County.
