To the Editor: Hats Off to Western Albemarle Rescue Squad!
Hats Off to Western Albemarle Rescue Squad!
On June 29 I had to call on the services of the WARS. Upon arrival to our home my husband was suffering from an unexpected heart attack. WARS’s quick response, calmness, training, and dedication helped save my husband’s life.
All the support for the family from friends, relatives and neighbors has been overwhelming to say the least. If I forgot to say thank you at that time, I certainly did not mean to over look anyone. Please accept my thanks now.
A personal thank you goes especially to the team of doctors and nurses in the Intensive Care Unit at Martha Jefferson Hospital, who never gave up and continued to provide a quality of care that amazed me, and to staff at the University of Virginia hospital’s ICU. Also to Mike Thompson, Dustin Morris, Alice Herman, Kate and George Williams and to Judy Thurston, my sister, who is always there for emotional support and advice.
We can never say enough to be able to continue on our celebration with a husband, father and grandfather.
