A dozen employees of Starr Hill Brewery joined the Crozet Trails Crew Nov. 8 to clean up Beaver Creek park.
“It’s important to connect the brewers with where the water comes from,” said Mark Thompson, the founder of the brewery. “It’s very important to have clean water.”
The volunteers collected a dozen contractor-size bags of trash, picking up a primitive moonshine set-up, numerous alcohol containers and shot glasses, fishing equipment and bait containers, and underwear.
The effort was so successful that organizers plan to do it again in the spring.
