Public Schools are the Key to Achieving the American Dream!
Raised and educated in the Northeast, I lived throughout the West for 34 years before settling with my wife and daughter in the Charlottesville area in 2010.
I have an extensive track record of taking complex projects from concept to fruition. I have been a designer, builder, and developer of departments/divisions/businesses within the securities and Internet industries. In addition to my 30-plus years in the financial services industry, I was also Co-Founder, Director, Executive Committee member and EVP of YellowPages.com before its eventual sale to BellSouth and Southwest Bell, now AT&T. My new company, Meritage Financial Solutions, LLC, provides low-cost, high-quality investment solutions to financial advisors nationwide for use with their sub-$100,000 IRA and non-qualified investors.
As a proud parent of a daughter in the public school system, my skill set will bring considerable value to the Albemarle County School Board and to all of its constituencies at a time when budgeting and funding are the major issues. My management experience ensures that all parties’ concerns will be heard while deliberating, decision-making, budgeting, and planning are performed in a constructive, cooperative and productive manner.
On a personal note, I want to serve while my daughter is still at Western Albemarle High School. I continue to stress to her the importance of public service and want to lead by example for her.
I fully embrace the specials interests of my fellow candidates and I have learned a lot about these interests from each of them. I also understand that I am the only one of us who fully comprehends the enormity of the $160+ million project at hand and the literally scores of issues in a broad array of topics that must routinely be dealt with. Combine this with the important responsibility of a public presence for our constituents countywide and the time commitment is enormous. I am uniquely qualified to handle these responsibilities.
