Photography Display, Main Street – Two Artist’ Viewpoints

February 2, 2018 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Free

Crozet resident Steve Wilcox along with county resident, Vincenzo Lupinetti, will have a photography display showcasing works from their book, Main Street – Two Artist’ Viewpoint, at the City Space Gallery in Charlottesville throughout the month of February. The project images were captured between August 2016 and December 2016 with each photographer bringing his own unique style, individual artist eye, and perspective to the identified points of interest. Two Lewis and Clark Monuments and small parks framed the walk. The monuments were created during the America Beautification Movement of the early twentieth century and were donated by Paul McIntire, a significant benefactor to the city of Charlottesville and its history. As the two artists worked on the project building renovations took place with several of the existing buildings eliminated and replaced with new ones. After reviewing their images, Steve and Vince realized that the project had taken on another dimension. Not only were their photographs revealing two unique perspectives, they were also documenting changes in the city of Charlottesville. The show opens on with First Friday, February 2, 2018 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM.
