Art on the Trax will present “Blue Ridge & Beyond” – A Show of Works by Six Plein Air Painters – during the month of October, with a Second Saturday Artist Reception on Saturday, October 14th from 4-6pm.
This show is a collection of works completed “en plein air” by a group of friends from Staunton, who love to paint outside. We have been painting once a week, usually Wednesday evenings, in the Staunton/Augusta County area. We meet around 5:30 or 6:00 pm, and paint for a couple of hours. We all agree that it has become one of the best parts of the week! Painting each week has also helped us all to become better painters. Most times, we finish our paintings before the evening is over. Because the light is ever-changing, especially in the evening, one must paint quickly and decisively.
Sometimes we end the evening with snacks and a glass of wine. We all enjoy each other’s company, and are inspired by each of our friends.
Please join us for a Second Saturday Opening Reception October 14th. This reception is part of Crozet’s Second Saturday events and runs from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. We’ll be serving up The Art Box’s famous ice cream sundaes topped with fruit from local orchards.
All events are free and open to the public. Art on the Trax is located at Creative Framing and The Art Box, across from the Olde Crozet Train Station, 5784 Three Notch’d Road in Crozet, Virginia.
