Beginning this year, the White Hall Ruritan Club is offering two annual scholarship grants, at $ 1,000 each, to help students afford formal training beyond high school. Any high school senior or graduate living in the Crozet/WhiteHall area who plans to attend college/technical school within one year of application for the scholarship may apply. The application deadline is April 30, and the scholarship winners will be announced in June.

Application forms are available at the club website: www.whitehallva.org, or from Shelby Poole, in the WAHS guidance department.

The Walter F. Perkins Memorial Scholarship honors the late Walter Perkins, a former Albemarle County Supervisor and fellow Ruritan, loved and remembered by many.

The Dan Maupin Scholarship honors White Hall Ruritan Club founding member and lifelong White Hall resident Dan Maupin. This scholarship, funded by an endowment of over $20,000 to which many area residents contributed donations during 2009 and 2010, will be awarded for the first time this year.
