Brownsville Elementary School third grader Carter Shifflett’s pitch hit the target at the dunking booth, which had reading interventionist Nicole Maclay in it at the time, but the mechanism malfunctioned so he was allowed to approach and hit it with his hand.
Five good-spirited Brownsville teachers took half-hour turns in the booth, one of dozens of games and amusements at the Brownsville Fun Fair, a school fundraiser sponsored by the PTO May 20, and each was dunked about 20 times during her shift.
