The Henley Middle school concert and symphonic bands competed at the 2015 Festival of Music at Kings Dominion on Saturday, May 9, among more than 30 choral and instrumental ensembles in the competition.
The Henley symphonic band not only won first place for its category, but was also named Grand Champion for the entire event. The Henley concert band was recognized as superior with a plaque.
Band director Kate Meier leaves Henley now on high note, as she heads for married life in Chicago. In addition to competing, the band members got to enjoy rides during the visit.
