Virgil "Junior" Rea, Jr.

Virgil “Junior” Rice Rea Jr., 95 of Crozet, went to be with his Heavenly Father on September 29, 2018, at his son’s residence. He was born on May 9, 1923, in Greenwood, to the late Virgil Rice Rea Sr. and Lina Hawkins Rea. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virgie Kent Rea; his siblings; and his special love, Bernice McClammer. He is survived by his only son, Donnie Wayne Rea and wife, Darlene of Charlottesville; his grandson, Bryan W. Rea and wife, Katie, of Palmyra; a great-granddaughter, Brenna Ann Rea; a great-grandson, Matthew Rea of Palmyra.; one sister, Marjorie Rea Crowder of Lynchburg; and his two special buddies, Eugene Reed and Tim Spicer. 

He graduated from Greenwood High School, was an Army veteran of World War II and retired from the Virginia ABC Board in 1984. His greatest achievements were being a great Dad and supporting his family. His passion was the Greenwood Baseball/Tri-County team and looking for a Shugga Momma. He was also known as the Mayor of Yancey Mills. 

A funeral service was be held Thursday, October 4, with a graveside service at Rockgate Cemetery in Crozet, with the Rev. Deacon Brian Hutchinson officiating.
