Terra Voce, a Crozet-based musical duo featuring flutist Elizabeth Brightbill and cellist Andrew Gabbert, will present a CD-release concert based on their new album, Água e Vinho at The Haven, 112 Market Street in Charlottesville, on Friday, November 30, at 7:30 pm.

The new Água e Vinho (Water and Wine) album celebrates Brazilian choro masters Pixinguinha, Benedito Lacerda, Luiz Gonzaga, Waldir Azevedo, and the great Argentinian tango icon Astor Piazzolla. Also featured are Água e Vinho by Egberto Gismonti, Fado by Kari Juusela, and Les Folies d’Espagne by 18th century court musician Marin Marais, in addition to arrangements of Galician and Basque songs. The CD will be released on Small World Records; a new label that musician and recording engineer Bobby Read has created to celebrate Charlottesville area musicians.

Terra Voce delights audiences with virtuosity and a conversational style of presentation as they explore diverse musical styles and traditions. They have appeared at the Kennedy Center and New York City’s Riverside Church, were finalists in the National Flute Association’s Chamber Music Competition, and perform throughout the state as a part of the Virginia Commission for the Arts Performing Arts Touring Program. Both musicians maintain private teaching studios in Crozet and teach various classes and workshops at Crozet Arts. Concert admission is $15 at the door with free admission for youth aged 18 and under. Discounted advance admission is available on Indiegogo; see www.TerraVoce.com for link.
