The Crozet Library Monday Night Book Group has continued to meet on Zoom during the pandemic quarantine, and hopes you will consider joining them either in July, for a discussion of Unsheltered by Barbara Kingsolver, or in September. They have just concluded their nomination and voting process to select 11 books for the 2020-21 reading year, listed below by month. The book group meets from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on the first Monday of every month, September through July, and all are welcome to attend any or all of the meetings. If you would like to receive a Zoom invitation, email [email protected].

The group has decided to continue meeting via zoom until the Governor and the Jefferson-Madison Regional Library system (JMRL) enter a phase allowing in-person meetings. We hope to meet in person at a future date when the library allows programs to start up again. JMRL is currently operating at Tier 4, but if and when they enter Tier 2, groups of up to 25 people might be allowed to meet. In Tier 2, “Public meetings and library programming resumes with limited attendance” with “enhanced cleaning protocols in place” and “enhanced safety and distancing protocols in place.” It is possible that this could happen by September, or later in the fall. We are hoping not to have to split into two groups, which might present logistical challenges. Another option might be to have an in-person meeting for those who are comfortable with it, and a simultaneous Zoom meeting for those who are not. Whatever happens, keep reading!
