Carlton Luther “Fuzzy” Pugh, passed away Friday, July 24 at Martha Jefferson Hospital. Born on November 13th, 1942 in Greenwood, Virginia, he is preceded in death by his parents Robert Vance and Ruby Pugh; two brothers, William and Mickey Pugh; sister-in-law Joan Pugh; brother-in-law, Dickie Martin; and nephew, Richard Pugh. He is survived by; his beloved wife of 36 years, Kate Pugh; 4 children, David, Marti, Christopher, and Kaylyn Pugh; 3 grandchildren, Chase Crickenberger and his wife Madison of Atlanta, Georgia, Kayleah, and Lacey Pugh; 4 siblings, Peggy-Anne Boyd, Robert Pugh, Betty-Jean Martin, and Ruby Canody and her husband, Calvin; 2 sister-in-laws, Carolyn Pugh and Barbara Pugh; as well as many dearly loved nieces and nephews. “Fuzzy” was a lifelong outdoorsman. He loved to fish both here in the mountains and in the Outer Banks. He had a larger than life personality and there were few places that he traveled where he was not known by many. He enjoyed being spontaneous and traveling at the drop of a hat. He would take off on an adventure and really loved the freedom of being on the road. He lived life to the fullest and was happiest when he was outdoors. He adored his children; and his grandchildren were his pride and joy. The adoration of his wife, children, and grandchildren was certainly mutual and they all loved to hear the incredible stories of his life’s adventures. At this time there will be no funeral arrangements per his wishes. A celebration of life for close friends and family will be held when circumstances around COVID-19 improve.
