Linwood Overton Foster Sr., 93, passed away peacefully at The Monarch of Richardson on October 31, 2020. Linwood was born in Crozet, Virginia on June 26, 1927. He was the seventh of nine children, and the fifth of seven sons born to Willie Francis and Ruth Ballard Foster. Linwood married Barbara Anne Baber at Crozet Baptist Church on October 23, 1949. After 52 years of marriage Barbara passed on June 18, 2002. Together they raised two children, living in Charlottesville, Virginia, Memphis, Tennessee, New York, New York, Houston, Austin, and Dallas, Texas. Linwood married his second wife Paula Loden Lenoble on September 27, 2003, after 15 years of marriage Paula passed on August 6, 2018.
Linwood was a proud United States Marine serving during World War II and The Korean War. A long time member of Crozet Baptist Church in Crozet, Virginia, First Baptist Church in Charlottesville, Virginia, and Park Cities Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas, Linwood had a strong faith and lived by his beliefs. Over five decades, Linwood was an extremely successful sales professional, working in a number of capacities, and for a number of organizations, including Acme Visible Records. He had a wonderful sense of humor, a gregarious personality, an intense work ethic, strong values, enjoyed nature, and loved the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. He earned the respect of all who knew him, and took great pride in being a man of integrity.
Linwood leaves behind a daughter Linda Foster Kemp, and a son Linwood Overton Foster, Jr. both of Richardson, Texas, his three grandchildren Lauren, Sean, and Ashley, his three great grand children Henry, Grace, and Declan, and numerous nieces and nephews. Linwood loved his family and friends and will be dearly missed by all. Due to the current health crisis, a private memorial service will be held followed by a grave side service, with military honors. Jack Martin of Park Cities Baptist Church will be officiating.
