Allen Monroe Cline Dunbar, 77, also known by his family as Oopie & Uncle Bo of Charlottesville, passed away at UVA Hospital on August 29, 2021.
He was born on May 14, 1944 in Roanoke, to the late Willie and Mamie Dunbar. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Edna Dunbar and his little dog Baby that went everywhere with him, and numerous brothers and sisters. He is survived by 1 sister: Shirley Cassidy, 1 daughter: Brenda Johnson and BJ, and 3 sons: Robert Dunbar and Lisa, Manual Dunbar and Beverley, Daniel Dunbar, 8 grandchildren: Heather Dunbar, Crystal and her husband Jason White, Matthew Barker, Gabriel Dunbar, Brittany Dunbar, Ashley Dunbar, Dee Johnson and Ray Johnson, 8 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Allen was a master welder and could weld anything. Allen worked at ConAgra and ACME Visible in Crozet, where he and his family resided for many years, before moving to Charlottesville. He loved his tractors, collecting and tinkering with them all. He loved vintage vehicles. He also loved a good moonshine in his younger years. He was dearly loved by his family and will be missed by so many. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
