Crozet’s Favorite Department Store
Greetings from The Green Olive Tree! The summer has been good for the thrift store. Our motto is to “serve in the name of Jesus” and we celebrated our 42nd anniversary in May. Since we are all volunteers, we can give more to community and Christian nonprofits. In September we will be giving to the Crozet Volunteer Fire Department; four local church food banks; Love, Inc.; and Equipping the Saints. We decreased our giving last year during Covid and have continued to do so this year, but by the first of 2022 we anticipate resuming our pre-Covid giving.
We are now open six days a week from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. We accept donations on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. We no longer quarantine donations. We accept them at the shed behind the store and keep them there until we are ready to sort them. This has helped us maintain much better order in the sorting room. We can’t emphasize enough how important it is NOT to leave donations after hours in the evening. There are people who regularly drive by looking to see if any donations have been left, and if there are, they either rummage through bags that are left or just them load up and we never see the donations.
Bag sale will be September 7 to the 18. We will be closed for transition from the 20th to the 22nd and reopen Thursday, the 23rd.
We are always looking for better ways to manage and display items in the store and would welcome your suggestions. And as always, we welcome new volunteers.
Crozet is truly a caring community and we thank you for your wonderful donations. If it wasn’t for you, we wouldn’t have anything in our store! We are really a recycling center for items you no longer need but someone else does!
Thank you again, Crozet, for your love and support. God’s blessing to all.
