Carrie Anne Foster and Johnathon Derek Maupin were married on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at the Fosters’ family farm in Strasburg, VA.   Rev. Colleen Swingle-Titus of Charlottesville officiated the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Anne Foster and the late Tom Foster, of Fairfax. The groom is the son of Richard and Cathy Maupin of Crozet.

Carrie was escorted by her brother, Michael Foster. Jenna Foster Haun, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Rebecca Deichman, Tori Hall, Sarah Payne, Abbie Pettigrew, Maggie Roth, Christine Savoie, Rachel Semus, all friends of the bride. Tucker Wash, friend of the groom, served as best man. He was accompanied by Mahir Dagra, Bill Jackson, William Moreno, Andy Moriconi, Dylan Russell, Luke Stelmack, Tyler Trevilian, friends of the groom. Ring bearers were Preston Burgess, Hunter Burgess, and Wyatt Reed, nephews of the groom. Flower girl, Adair Burgess, niece of the groom, was escorted by the ring bearers in a decorated little red wagon. Readers were Megan Maupin Burgess, Lauren Maupin Einwechter, and Allison Maupin Reed, sisters of the groom. 

A rehearsal dinner and a welcome party kicked off the weekend’s festivities Friday evening at the Star in the Valley Estate Winery in Strasburg, VA. The next day, the two were married in a lovely outdoor wedding ceremony followed by a reception held under a large tent on the family farm. An after party followed the reception into the early hours of the morning. The couple enjoyed a brief honeymoon to the Homestead Inn in Hot Springs, VA. A longer honeymoon is planned for 2022. 

Johnathon received his BS in Economics from James Madison University and is self-employed as a home inspector with HomeTeam Inspection Services. Carrie received her BS in Biology and a Masters in Public Health from the University of Virginia, a MD from Virginia Commonwealth University and is currently in her second year of the Emergency Medicine Residency Program at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. The newlyweds currently reside in Winston-Salem, NC.
