John Milton Friend, age 91 of 1667 Buck Road Crozet, died peacefully on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his family.
He was born August 22, 1930 in Friendsville, Md. to the late Oren M. Friend and Beulah Irene Vansickel Friend. He was a Korean war veteran, Treasurer of Crozet United Methodist Church, and a Quality Control Engineer at Stromberg Carlson/Comdial for 22 years. He plowed gardens for the community in Crozet and was a lifetime member of the Case Collectors Club with over 300 knives.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three sisters, Alice, Bettye and Ruth as well as a daughter, Teresa M. Friend.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Margaret Elesa Funk Friend; a son, Daniel M. Friend of Crozet; a son Thomas P. Friend of Clifton Forge; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated. No formal services are scheduled.
