Jean Maupin Patterson

Jean Maupin Patterson, born to the late Levi Pleasant Maupin and Alberta Sandridge Maupin on October 6, 1930, in Crozet, died on Wednesday, November 23 at her home in Crozet. 

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband William Mitchell Patterson; grandson Tyler Brooks Patterson; brother Levi Maupin Jr and his wife, Mary Louise; and her special brother-in-law, Mason Belew.

Surviving are two sons, William M. Patterson Jr. (Margaret) and John P. Patterson (Theresa); and four grandchildren, Tiffany Patterson, Emma-Jean Christner (Jesse) Darby-Rose, and William Patterson III “Trip” (Emma). Also surviving are six great-granddaughters, Caylee, Chloe, McCoy, Vyolette, Emma-Lynn and Delilah, and two great-grandsons, David and Noah.

Jean is also leaving behind her dear sister, Mary Mapin Belw; two wonderful nephews, Jerry and Danny (Becky) Belew; and five nieces, Suzanne, Melanie, Jennie, Teresa, and Judy Belew Hogberg (Dennis) who was like the daughter Jean never had.

Jean had a sister-in-law, Betty Toms, and many wonderful cousins anad friends who along with her family will miss her. Also, a sweet little chihuahua, “Eli” who McCoy says will get lots of spoiling.

Jean was an active member of Hillsboro Baptist Church for many years. She retired from Jefferson National Bank (now Wells Fargo) after 48 years of service. 

Services were held at Hillsboro Baptist Church on November 29. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to your favorite charity.
