Supervisor Mallek portrays herself as an environmentalist and supporter of the clean stream initiative. As her neighbor and downstream landowner, I know this to be untrue.
From December 2022 to March 2023, she purposefully drained her 8-acre pond by using a large excavator to breach the dam that was holding it back. An enormous amount of muddy water and sediment ran through two downstream properties before dumping the pollution into Chris Greene Lake in Earlysville. As is documented by the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality, she did this without the necessary permits and without using even basic erosion or sediment controls. I guess when it comes to Ann Mallek, it’s “do as I say, not as I do.” Vote Brad Rykal for Supervisor.
