Child Care Policy Perspectives

April 10, 2022 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

The League of Women Voters for the Charlottesville Area is holding a live, virtual seminar entitled “Child Care Policy Perspectives” on April 10, 2022, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

To address the critical need for affordable, quality child care, new policies are being considered and implemented at all levels of government. In Virginia, different stakeholders are working to make sure that policy changes will allow them to provide the kind of early childhood care and education they value.

This seminar will feature speakers who will address the efforts of two stakeholder groups: Montessori education and cooperative preschools. Corey Borgman, Education & Outreach Director for UVA’s Montessori Science Program, will highlight advocacy for Montessori education; and UVA’s Andrew Pennock, Associate Professor of Public Policy, will speak to advocacy for cooperative preschools.

The public is invited to participate in this timely discussion. To join the free event, go to the League’s website at and follow the seminar event link for instructions.

Founded in 1920, the League of Women Voters is a non-partisan organization that works to increase understanding of major public policy issues and influences public policy through education and advocacy. The League looks forward to continuing its mission with this free event.
