Wildrock Volunteer Orientation

February 21, 2020 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

free

Wildrock, a non-profit Nature Play and Discovery Center in Crozet, is offering a Volunteer Training Day for people over the age of 18 interested in working with elementary school students for two field trip programs — Habitat Explorers and Tree Detectives. It will be held at Wildrock (6600 Blackwells Hollow Road, Crozet, VA from 9am to noon on February 21st). Volunteer hours are available (as many or as few as their schedule allows) on weekday mornings between 9:45 and noon. Responsibilities include hosting inquiry stations on Wildrock’s playscape on the topics of seed dispersal, bird song, colors in nature, and leaves. Volunteers may also help lead children on trail activities focussed on animal habitats and special trees. If you are interested, please email Wildrock’s Director of Operations, Jill Watt, at [email protected]. Wildrock is located in rural Crozet, next to Patricia Byrom Forest Preserve. For more information, visit www.wildrock.org. Criminal background checks and a brief interview are required after orientation for admittance into the volunteer program.
